At CPKC, safety is foundational to everything we do. Operating safely requires attention at all times, and depends on the active participation of us all. It’s a journey, not a destination, one we are on together.
It is in that spirit that we are honored to present 80 distinguished shippers with our railroad’s annual Safe Shipper Award for the safe transportation of hazardous materials on CPKC lines in 2024. Companies receiving the award transported a minimum of 500 carloads of hazardous materials (non-intermodal) with zero Non-Accidental Releases.
Shippers receiving the award share with CPKC a steadfast dedication to the safe movement of every shipment every day. We honor this commitment for the protection of the environment and the safety and health of our employees, customers and communities we operate in and through.
Our goal is to be the safest Class 1 railroad in North America. In 2024, for the second consecutive year, CPKC led the industry with the lowest FRA-reportable train accident frequency among Class 1 railroads, building on CP’s legacy of 17 consecutive years of industry leadership.
